Opening of Namaa (2) Residential Village for Displaced Persons in Al-Khokha District - Al-Hodeidah Governorate

Within the framework of the generous and continuous Kuwaiti support through its humanitarian and development approach in the Islamic world and in light of the ongoing efforts to support the displaced and secure a decent life for them and within integrated steps aimed at improving the conditions of the displaced and meeting their basic needs:


Today, Sunday, November 10, 2024 AD, the Governor of Al-Hodeidah Governorate, along with Dr. Jamal Muqbil, Director of the Heteen Charitable Development Foundation in Yemen and Director of the Executive Unit for Managing Displaced Persons Camps in the Governorate, opened Namaa (2) Residential Village for Displaced Persons, which is dedicated to housing displaced families affected by the events in Yemen in the Al-Khokha area of Al-Hodeidah Governorate. This development project comes with generous support and funding from Namaa Charitable in the State of Kuwait and implemented by the Heteen Charitable Development Foundation in Yemen, which has been equipped with all the residential facilities and services that contribute to securing a decent living for these families and their stability.

This village is the fourth project to be supported with generous support from the State of Kuwait..

The village contains (50) residential apartments, each apartment consists of two rooms, a kitchen, a bathroom and a hall. In addition to a number of service facilities, including a fully furnished regular school, a mosque with its accessories, an artesian well, a water network to all residences and facilities, drinking water tanks and a sewage network. The opening ribbon was cut by the Governor of Al-Hodeidah Governorate, Dr. Al-Hassan Al-Taher, accompanied by the Director General of the H Heteen Development Foundation, Dr. Jamal Muqbil, the Director of the Executive Unit for the Management of Displaced Persons Camps, a number of dignitaries and social figures in the city and a large gathering of citizens and displaced families. The Governor appreciated the Kuwaiti humanitarian interventions and their constant support for their brothers in Yemen in these exceptional and difficult circumstances and alleviating the suffering of the displaced, by implementing many sustainable and humanitarian development projects in addition to emergency aid, especially in terms of sheltering the displaced and the most vulnerable in society with more sustainable housing that is resistant to climate change factors. The Governor thanked the Namaa Charity in the State of Kuwait for its continuous efforts in supporting the Yemeni people and advancing them in various fields, adding that words of thanks are not enough for the brotherly Kuwait and the various projects and services it provides in all fields.


The Director of the Heteen Development Foundation, Dr. Jamal Muqbil, explained that the Namaa Residential Village (2) for the displaced in the Al-Khokha area of Al-Hodeidah Governorate is a model and integrated project that provides all services to these families. Muqbil added that this project, which comes as a contribution from the brothers in the State of Kuwait, is an important step towards improving the lives of hundreds of displaced people and alleviating their suffering, noting that hundreds of people will benefit from the project and will have a private home that brings together family members and removes the suffering of displacement and camps, thanking everyone who supported and contributed to the success of this project, the largest of its kind in Yemen.

It is worth noting that work on the residential village lasted about six months of construction and building in light of the difficult circumstances that Yemen is experiencing
