The extent of a person's awareness is measured by his membership in charitable and voluntary associations
Heteen Charitable Development Foundation - Yemen celebrates the International Volunteer Day, which falls on December 5th of each year, stressing the importance of the role of volunteering in building strong and cohesive societies, especially in light of the challenges facing Yemen. The Foundation emphasizes that Yemeni society is characterized by a spirit of cooperation and social solidarity, as members of society participate effectively in volunteer initiatives in various fields, whether in providing medical, food, educational, social or training assistance, etc. ... as well as in providing the knowledge and skills necessary to build and rehabilitate members of society. On this annual occasion, the Foundation calls on all members of society to continue to participate effectively in various volunteer activities and support charitable initiatives, as volunteering is a shared responsibility and an effective means for sustainable development and building a more prosperous Yemen. Volunteering is a fundamental pillar of humanitarian work and a tributary to sustainable development. The role of volunteers is not limited to providing urgent assistance, but extends to building the capacities of local communities through training and providing the necessary knowledge and skills, enabling them to participate effectively in reconstruction and development. Volunteering also encourages social solidarity and building bridges of communication between individuals and communities, which contributes to enhancing the sense of social responsibility and building more cohesive societies.
