Hodeidah Governorate is drowning in rain and torrential rain: houses, roads, and livestock...an urgent call for help!

The Hodeidah Governorate in northern Yemen sank under the weight of heavy rains and torrential floods, which caused heavy losses, including the collapse of many homes and roads, the sweeping away of large quantities of livestock (sheep and cows), and resulted in the loss of people who were swept away by the floods. Eyewitnesses confirmed that a large part of the governorate's infrastructure was severely damaged, which made the situation more serious and exacerbated the residents' suffering. Residents sent an urgent appeal to all charitable institutions and philanthropists, to help those affected by the flood disaster and provide them with urgent assistance, to provide them with shelter, provide relief to farmers and owners of cows and livestock who lost their livestock, and provide support to meet their basic needs. It is noteworthy that Hodeidah Governorate is suffering from difficult humanitarian conditions, and the population’s suffering is increasing with the recurrence of natural disasters and the lack of basic services. Dr. Jamal Al-Faqih called on all concerned parties and local and international organizations to take urgent action to help those affected in Hodeidah Governorate, and to deliver aid to them as quickly as possible. The most prominent damages were as follows: Deaths: 4 people in Hays District, Hodeidah Governorate. Demolition: 132 houses in Hays District. Affected families: 2,073 families in Hodeidah Governorate, distributed among 22 camps, and 3,510 families in Hajjah Governorate, distributed among 61 communities. Destroyed homes: 132 homes in Hodeidah Governorate, and 3,510 homes in need of rehabilitation in Hajjah Governorate. The most prominent damages to the displaced: Shelter: 438 affected families in Hodeidah Governorate, and 3,510 affected families in Hajjah Governorate. Shelter materials: 780 affected families in Al-Hudaydah Governorate, and 1,035 affected families in Hajjah Governorate. Food supplies: 673 affected families in Hodeidah Governorate, and 1,125 affected families in Hajjah Governorate.
